Buddy Press Group Description Question

  The descriptions I wrote for each of my groups cut off after two words or so. Is there something I need to do so the description shows up on the group page?

  Open “groups/groups-loop.php” in the theme folder and find line 41. Change the number in the code shown below to how many characters you want to show from the description.

  echo bp_create_excerpt( $group->description, 25 )

  This happened because they changed the parameter in BP 1.5 for the excerpt length. The number previously set the “number of words” and now it’s “number of characters”. I don’t know why.
