Insert url link into shortcode

  Can you tell me how to insert a url link (what is the code etc) into a Call to Action..or similar..I have tried most variations, but not stumbled across the right one..

  The only you want is “link“

  Thanks Andy..am being thick…could you show me where to place and whether to include ” or spaces etc..do I just put it before or after the sqaure bracket etc
