Using shortcode for static pages

    said

    Hi,

I am trying to create a three column/three row home page using static content blocks. The idea is to use an image for each section and a text underneath with some text and a “read more” link. I create a page with shortcut:

    [plain_image image="3635" w="289" h="150" alt="Image Description" static_content id="test-dds" page_content="excerpt" excerpt_length="50" read_more="Read more..."]

I can see the image, but can not see the content. Also how can I link that image to an URL? Please help.

    Thanks

You have added a bunch of attributes to the [plain_image] shortcode that don’t exist for that shortcode. The [plain_image] shortcode will display an image, nothing else.

The [plain_image] shortcode is documented here → http://para.llel.us/themes/salutation-wp/shortcodes/images/

To get the look you are after you’d need to use the [blog] shortcode. That shortcode will display the posts’s featured image above the post title and and optional excerpt with “Read more” link. The featured image and the post title will automatically be linked to the full post.

The [blog] shortcode is documented here → http://para.llel.us/themes/salutation-wp/shortcodes/blog/
