How to update the theme

Remember to backup your entire website (files and database) before updating in case anything goes wrong. To update you will need FTP access to your website.

- Download the latest version from your ThemeForest downloads area.
- Unzip the file that you downloaded.
- Find the latest version in the WordPress folder (‘theme-traject-v1.2.6.zip‘) and unzip it.
If the Traject theme folder on your server is named ‘theme-traject’…
- Rename the folder that appears after unzipping from ‘parallelus-traject’ to ‘theme-traject’.
- Use FTP to replace the old ‘wp-content/themes/theme-traject‘ folder with the new one.
Otherwise…
- Use FTP to replace the old ‘wp-content/themes/parallelus-traject‘ folder with the new one.

IMPORTANT: The best way to guarantee a complete and proper update is to use FTP to delete the existing theme folder on your server and then upload the new theme folder from your computer to your server. Any changes you’ve made to the theme’s files will be lost. None of your theme settings, WordPress settings or other data (such as articles) will be affected because this is all stored in your website’s database.

After updating, please refresh your browser’s caches so that it is not using old, cached versions of the theme’s CSS and JavaScript files.

What’s new in this update

- Strengthened sidebar security.

If you’re having any issues after updating the theme, please first deactivate all plugins and test with another theme to make sure your issue is not a plugin conflict or a WordPress issue.

Theme update notifications

Themes purchased from ThemeForest cannot use the normal WordPress notifications and updates system. This is not something we can control, we do not operate the ThemeForest website.

On your ThemeForest downloads page you’ll see an option you can enable that will send you an email every time a theme is updated.

Alternatively, Envato has made a plugin you can use to help keep themes purchased from ThemeForest up to date.
