Somewhere – it could be a WordPress file, it could be a theme file, it could be in your site’s database – that snippet of HTML has been added by the hacker.
You can try reinstalling WordPress, there’s a button for that in your admin dashboard (Dashboard > Updates).
You can try reinstalling the theme.
This is the exact procedure to follow when either updating the theme or reinstalling the theme…
– Download the latest version of the Unite theme from ThemeForest (the “Installable WordPress file only” option).
– Unzip the file you downloaded from ThemeForest to create a ‘parallelus-unite’ folder on your computer.
– Use FTP to delete the ‘parallelus-unite’ theme folder on your server.
– Use FTP to upload the new ‘parallelus-unite’ theme folder from your computer to your server.
Note that it is important that you first delete the existing ‘parallelus-unite’ theme folder on your server before you upload the new one.
If after reinstalling WordPress and the Unite theme you still have that garbage at the bottom of every page (look at the source in your browser) then it most likely means that your database has been compromised. If it is a recent compromise then your web host may still have a backup of an older version of your database that isn’t compromised; you’d need to ask them about that. It may be that you’ll need professional help to clean up your database.
