Showcase – Left widget is duplicated

I have no idea why that would happen. Have you modified any theme files?

Looking in the browser source of your home page (http://www.badfads.com) I can see two showcase areas, i.e. the code <div id="Slideshow"> is in there twice.

The only way I can think of for that to happen is if the ‘header.php’ file has been modified. There’s no loop in the code so I can’t see any way that the theme can output more than one <div id="Slideshow"> container.

Have you modified the ‘header.php’ file?

    Hi:

Yes, I modified the header.php file as you described in order to put a slider on each page (the code of which you can see here: http://badfads.com/wp-content/uploads/unite4.jpg ). So now a slide appears on every page EXCEPT the home page. The slider that is supposed to appear on the home page has gone missing, as has the first FEATURED IN.

I’m deducing that if you look at badfads.com right now, the FEATURED in section is the duplicate one (I’ll call it featured 2) and now what is missing is the the home page slider and featured 1). Can you tell me where in the header.php the home page slider and the showcase – left are created (those are the parts that dissappeared). It previously looked like the showcase – left was what was being duplicated.

So where in header.php is the slideshow and showcase – left created/published.

    Thank,

    Mark

The code that outputs the showcase content is under the <!-- Showcase Content --> comment.

The code that outputs the slideshow is under the <!-- Slide show: jQuery GalleryView --> or the <!-- Slide show: jQuery Cycle (default) --> comment depending on which slideshow style you have selected in Unite > Slideshow.

This just weird. I edited the most recent header.php (2014) with the code to make the slider appear on all pages. That doesn’t work, but the slideshow does appear on the front page.

I uploaded the previous header.php that I had been using for the last four years and now the slider appears on all of the page EXCEPT the home page.

I uploaded a copy of that file to: http://badfads.com/wp-content/uploads/headerbadfads.rtf

Can you spot anything that would be preventing the slider from showing up on the home page?

These are questions about customizing and extending the code so they are beyond the scope of theme support. Mixing old theme templates with new theme templates is a great way to screw up the theme. ;)

Well, it’s not like I want to mix them. Your hack forgetting the sliders on every page did not work for me with the newest version so I had to try something. I’ll figure it out as I have most of the rest.

    Thanks for your help.
