Lost theme configuration after theme update

    Hi,

We have update vellum theme for the site https://www.newslettersoft.com/

After updating it seems that we have lost theme configuration, we have a top menu instead of the left menu, but when we try to change theme settings like logo or apply “business” skin we are unable to record new changes.

I have checked for error on console, but everything seems to be Ok. Any idea of what can be wrong. Thanks

    Hi,

Checking on DB it seems that has already being changed:

    “textarea-type”;}s:10:”logo-image”;s:83:”https://www.newslettersoft.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/logo_newslettersoft.png”;s:11:”logo-mobile”;s:73:”https://www.newslettersoft.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/logo_medium.png”;s:10:”logo-width”;s:3:”130″;s:8:”logo-url”;s:0:”";s:10:”logo-title”;s:48:”Vellum – The Next Generation of WordPress Themes”;

But thos echanges are not displayed on the site.

We use WP-Fastest-Cache-Premium, but it doesn’t seems to be the problem. We have disabled plugin and problems remains. Before theme update we have the same plugin and works fine.

I just checked your website and I see a vertical menu on the left…

If you are seeing something different then it’s most likely a cache issue.

Also, if you are changing theme options but you can’t see those changes front-end, that also suggests a cache issue.

Clear the cache that has been created by your cache plugin, then disable and delete your cache plugin (you can install it again later), then clear your browser cache, and then see if you still have the same problem.

Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jeffw,

I re-install theme again by deleting all theme and uploading new one, then I activate vellum-theme. Now I could switch to “business skin” with top menu, but every time I try to change logo, on the preview works but when I publish changes, it doesn’t store changes.

I have removed cache and addons and cleared my server (deleting files) but also browser cache. And doesn’t work too. It is not a cache issue; it is like it only allow to modify certain part of the theme thought the menu. I can set default home page but not logo nor alternative text.

We use last version of wp: 5.3 and theme version is Versión: 1.7.40

On DB the changes seem to be applied:

    text”;s:15:”menu-font-color”;s:16:”colorpicker-type”;s:17:”menu-active-color”;s:16:”colorpicker-type”;s:13:”custom-styles”;s:13:”textarea-type”;s:9:”custom-js”;s:13:”textarea-type”;}s:10:”logo-image”;s:86:”https://www.newslettersoft.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/logo_newslettersoft_home.png”;s:11:”logo-mobile”;s:0:”";s:10:”logo-width”;s:3:”255″;s:8:”logo-url”;s:0:”";s:10:”logo-title”;s:48:”Newslettersoft – Soluciones de Marketing Digital”;s:14:”favorites-icon”;s:31:”http://para.llel.us/favicon.ico”;s:15:”mobile-bookmark”;s:40:”http://para.llel.us/apple-touch-icon.png”;s:12:”layout-style”;s:10:”full-width”;s:4:”skin”;s:16:”style-skin-1.css”;s:14:”accent-color-1″;s:7:”#3f6ba8″;s:12:”design-

    But when we enter:

    Appearance/Theme Options/

On the logo image we have the default value http://demo.vellumwp.com//wp-content/uploads/logo-vellum-business.png

    Same happens from “Appearance/Theme/Customize/”

It is like it load again started pack settings.

I also have performed a search file using grep on theme to see if there is some hardcode to define logo but is not the case, it only appears on the starter pack.
    /var/lib/lxc/newsletter/rootfs/var/www/html/newslettersoft/wordpress/wp-content/themes/parallelus-vellum/data/starterkits/business/options-page.json:
    /var/lib/lxc/newsletter/rootfs/var/www/html/newslettersoft/wordpress/wp-content/themes/default/new/parallelus-vellum/data/starterkits/business/options-page.json

By the time, were I can change files or Database settings for at least use my logo?

All obvious options have been checked and seems to be OK.
If I send you the credentials can you have a look?

Please make sure you have all caching pluigns turned off and ask your web host to make sure they don’t have any additional caching being applied. We’ve seen this happen before with a caching tool named Memcached; it’s known for causing weird behaviour like this. So contact your hosts and ask them to disable all caching for your site. Ask them specifically if they are using Memcached or any similar caching tool. Let us know if this helps.
