Portfolio images aren’t rendering

The portfolio has suddenly stopped rendering images on the site. We even created a Post Grid template, which will get the main portfolio/category pages working – but the individual portfolio (or subsequent single cat) page still won’t work/display correctly. Here is a link: https://savannahcatbreed.com/f1-queens/.

It looks to me like all your portfolio posts are set to the Gallery post format, and none of them has any images set for the gallery.

You probably need to set your portfolio posts to the Standard post format.

To do that edit the portfolio post, click on the Standard tab at the top and then click the Update button to re-save the post…

Do the same for all other portfolio posts that you want to display the featured image.

I’m not sure what you mean. If you want each post in the list to be a Gallery slideshow then for each post you will need to add gallery images.

Currently it looks like on this page → https://savannahcatbreed.com/f1-queens/ the first two posts are set to the Standard post type, and the others are set to the Gallery post type but none of those posts have any images in their galleries.

Or are you saying that those posts do have galleries and the Gallery post format isn’t working properly?

    @parkerweb

The version of PHP running on your server must have been updated.

I’ve run some tests on my Vellum sandbox site and the Gallery post format works okay with up to and including PHP v7.0.x, but it stops working with PHP v7.1+.

I’ll start a ticket for this with our development team, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I know more.

Thanks for pointing this out so we can get it fixed.

I rolled it back to php 7.0 and the images re-appeared (yay!). However, instead of remaining static and opening in a lightbox when clicked, they all begin rotating at the same time and go to the individual portfolio page onclick: https://savannahcatbreed.com/f1-queens/.

For reference, here is how it worked before: https://web.archive.org/web/20170326015912/https://savannahcatbreed.com/f1-queens/

Viewing the same category on the regular category template page, the images don’t all start automatically rotating. They still don’t open in a light box, but at least they don’t automatically start

How can we adjust the Portfolio page builder block?

This issue is fixed in the latest theme update. → http://para.llel.us/support/groups/vellum/forum/topic/latest-version-vellum/

The gallery post format has always worked the way it is working now, i.e. in post lists, gallery post format posts have always displayed a slideshow that begins automatically. You must have customised the templates to stop the slideshow autoplaying. This topic describes how you can do that…
         → http://para.llel.us/support/groups/vellum/forum/topic/way-to-disable-content-rotator-on-portfolio-gallery-items/

Again, it has always been the case that when you click on a gallery post format post in a post list it will open the portfolio post; gallery post form posts have never been able to open a gallery in a popup lightbox. So, again, you must have customised the theme. This topic describes how you can do that…

I don’t understand your new question about adjusting the page builder block. Does that have to do with the subject we are discussing in this topic (portfolio images aren’t rendering)? If it does, please explain in more detail. Otherwise, please start a new topic for that separate issue and explain in more detail there.

    Thanks.

Please disregard that last question. Once I made the changes that you linked to, it started working properly.

    Many thanks for your help!
